On the top right hand side of the forum where your welcome message, pager & private messages & notifications are you'll find the mood setting.

You can choose from a number of moods raning from happy to drunk to bored to bitchy...

This will show in your profile and in actual posts below your avatar.

Did you click on the Mood thingy?

Try clicking "My Mood: - [reset]" and then on the Happy one.

Sometimes there's a delay of a few seconds when you try to change your mood. We're such a moody bunch the site sometimes needs a moment to catch up :grin
