Hey Bubbles, you're talking to the right guy about banking...it depends where and who you work for. The job market is picking up slowly, and my dept. at the bank I'm with has just been on a massive recruitment drive. If you want, give me a shout when you come over and I can put in touch with my agency, they've done me good for 3 and a half years and are very reliable. Appies are very short at the moment, from what I can gather they aren't too big over here. But then again, if you can get a contact, and someone willing to take your boyfriend on then you could manage to get something.

Hey Bubbles, post on the wall, but seems to have picked up a bit, although economy is still slow to pick up. banking I guess you'd be sorted, apprenticeships, that I'm not sure about, I thought they were cutting down on these, but i may be wrong. Apprenticeship= v low wage. banking in London should be ok, but whole industry I think in upheaval (if you're talking corporqte_

Sorry...had to finish off in another mssage:
It might also be worth checking with a visa service agency (when I did mine, FedEx in Zim were brilliant) to see if they can help. Or, would you not be able to apply for a full ancestry visa for yourself?
In terms of the money, thats a bit of a grey area, I had a family member set up a dummy account and put £2000 in it, so possibly somewhere in that region.

I hope this helps, and good luck!!!

Hi Bubbles...not sure how much I can help, but I'll give it a go (most of what I do know, is either from experiance or from what I've heard). From what I know, the British High Comm need written confirmation that you guys have been together for as long you have (from your boyfriend), and that he is willing to support you. It possibly also couldnt hurt to have the friend whose apartment your staying in to right a character reference, that h's known your boyfriend for so long, and you for so long (it cant hurt your application). Proof of rent might work especially if you can prove the other part of it, but if you had a utility bill in both of your names that would be ideal. In regards to your question about the application form, I'm not 100% sure (it's been so long since I did mine, I cant really remember, and I didnt have any dependents)...it might be worth firing off a question in the forum, I'm sure someone would be able to answer that, or know someone who has done something similar.

HI! I'm in need of some help. My boyfriend is going to apply for the uk ancestral visa. We have been together 3 years and 7 months. We have been living together with his best friend in an apartment for 1 year and 9 months basicly. I know that if we live together for two years I can apply for the uk ancestral dependency visa. I would like to know that if me paying him the rent money every month will suffice as proof of the two years? I also would like to know when he fills in the form for the visa, do I need to fill in a seperate form or can I fill in my details on the same form? How much money will he need in his account to show he can support himself independently? How much money will he need in his account to show he can support him and me independently? Which town/city would be best for us to start out, job- and homewise? Please give us any help, it will be highly appreciated. Thank you. =o)
