British Citzen - born in Zimbabwe pre 1923

This is a complicated question. My mom has been told by someone (who aparently knows all the in and outs of Uk immigration) - aparently if you had a parent or grand parent born pre 1923 in Rhodesia they would be entitled to British Citizenship and therefore their children could now be entitled to it!

Does anyone know anything about this.

    Hi Lols,

I don't I'm afraid. I've recently tried to contact the British authorities to find out whether my dad can renew his British passport that expired in 1969. (Born in SA, lived in Rhodesia, Granparents born in Scotland).

I haven't had an answer to mine as yet. I'll keep a lookout and let you know if I come up with anything too.

My mom also has a "British passport" that was issued in Southern Rhodesia about the same time. I did say to her a couple of years ago she should have just tried to renew it and see what happened.

lols: my mom was born in Zimbabwe and was able to get British citizenship because her grandfather was born pre 1923 in Zimbabwe (along with a couple of other conditions), and I'm wondering if the citizenship is able to be passed onto me - were you able to find out anything?
