Renewal of Ancestral Visa (4 year to 5 year)

    Hey guys,

Just thought I'd give you an update...well time has come to bit the bullet to do my renewal at the princely sum of £665 (in person).

You need to make an appointment to go to Home Office beforehand (what they don't say is you have to go there anyway to get a Biometric ID card).

    So you'll need,

3 months bank statements, payslips, letter from employer, birth/ marriage certifcate, completed FLR BID form, 2 x passport photos

I'm going tomorrow, so wish me luck! I'll update you when I'm back.:)

Ok, so looks like everything went well :)

I'm now waiting to get my ID card..yup the one with the prints in it. I'll now have that instead of a visa sticker in my passport. Booked through the phone for the appointment. All in all took 2.5 hours , service was friendly, however the phone didn't advise me to bring in my birth certifcates, glad I didn't listen there. I needed them. realistically all they wanted was a letter from my employer , my payslips and the birth certficates.
